Extreme Long Shot

The extreme long shot is a further modification of the long shot, it is shot so far from the subject that they aren’t necessarily in the focus anymore but rather the surrounding area. This shot can be used for an establishing shot, or to demonstrate the scale of what is happening in a scene, for example a car getting chased by multiple vehicles or a country-wid explosion. This kind of shot is most often used in war films where all the action can be seen at once. These kinds of shots make the characters seem almost insignificant compared to the area around them, which is the effect wanted in war type films, bloodshed is common and the life of an individual pale in comparison to the mass amount of lives lost.
