Technology

I love using stuff

In my family, being closely tied to technology is normal and necessary due to the nature of our skills. My older brother, on the desk beside me, is a programmer, my dad is an engineer, he works with technology all the time. My mom is working towards finance and advertising despite having a Psychiatry degree, so she is usually on her phone observing social media trends, my little brother, still lost in what to do is getting exposure through Youtube shorts lol.

Consequently, because of my fathers job and the tools that he has, I bask and utilize the things he has garnered; like his 3D printers, VR headsets and high-end computers. These computers are meant to carry out heavy programs like actual programming and CAD/CAM programs and wear down over time, partly the reason he hands down some of his devices to me and my siblings. Albeit I haven't started on CAD/CAM software yet, I am acquainted with my dad's projects and occasionally lend him a hand when it comes to design concerns.

I also like modifying and experimenting with devices, and taking apart hardware, my lazy older brother is a supporter of this as it means upgrades to our devices without him needing to do anything. On the VR headset I've added mods to many games (which he enjoys) and on my browser, after playing around with the mods OPERA gx provides; I chose the Mario mod, the akko lavender switch keyboard mod (which is the typing sound you hear in my CCR videos) and the "fishing vibes" background music that I use sparingly.

Being good with tech has it's quirks, I have the ability of threatening my brother with locking him out of his phone whenever he throws a tantrum, or using parental controls on my mom's phone when she's in need of detox.

I wasn't always like this though, as a child I was teased for my stupidity at school because I was homeschooled and I lacked any semblance of social awareness. I only played with Barbie dolls and didn't understand anything tech related yet. I didn't even have a phone until I was 10 or 11 for emergency purposes, when I got it, it was the model below. I only upgraded 5 years after we came to Qatar, during the first few years I relied on a crappy, half broken computer for entertainment since we didn't have a TV and gradually upgraded by taking my dad's and brother's hand-me-downs as they both climbed up the ranks. Safe to say a lot has changed since my quiet, less fortunate days in Singapore.

My first phone (up until year 7)

Here's a small sample of the kind of things I like to do nowadays:
