I love building stuff
It's really unfortunate that there isn't a DT or CAD/CAM course offered to AS level students this year because I would've loved doing DT. In my family, I fix hardware and broken objects. I'm not sure of when this started, but I think it began when I got a little destructive as a child and fixed it with what little knowledge of mechanisms I had, and the dexterity of my hands as an arts and crafts kid.
Now, I am my family's go-to when it comes to building things from IKEA (mostly because they're busy/lazy depending on the family member.) With my dad's tools, I've renovated my room during the winter break, built my brothers bed, and at school I fix the broken tables for fun when I'm bored during my frees. Recently, I took apart my phone to fix my janky volume button that kept on triggering without being touched. Among other things, I like playing with the things my dad brings home, like LittleBits starter kits, robots that he has to setup, and anything that requires building/setting up like the 3D printers I mentioned earlier in the technology interests page.
Me fixing a table and my friend's joining me!

Don't get me wrong I'm not the best at physics/programming or being incredibly logical, I just love tinkering around, finding out how things work and using my hands. It's really fun when you think you understand how something works and being proud of creating something that's (partly) yours.
